Introduction
The Temporary Patio Permit program will commence on Saturday, May 20, 2023 and conclude on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
There is NO FEE to apply.
Applicants will receive a confirming email indicating that the application package has been received. Only complete applications will be accepted.
Submission of a temporary patio permit application DOES NOT grant permission to construct a temporary patio. Construction can only commence once the Town issues a Conditional Permit. An inspection by Town staff is mandatory prior to opening the patio. Once a patio has passed inspection, a Permit and Permit Number will be provided by the Town to the applicant, allowing the patio to open.
Private Patio Application: Restaurant owners wishing to establish their temporary patio on private property (i.e. parking lots or rear of restaurant) can select PRIVATE from the menu below and complete the accompanying fields.
Public Patio Application: Restaurant owners in the vicinity of the ‘four corners’ of Holland Street and Barrie Street / Simcoe Road, who would like to establish a temporary sidewalk patio can select PUBLIC from the menu below and complete the accompanying fields. *Please note that a pre-inspection discussion with Town staff will be required to discuss placement of on-street barricades.
Restaurant owners in the downtown core that also have spaces in the rear of the building can also apply for both patios by selecting PUBLIC from the menu below and completing the accompanying fields.
Temporary Patio Permits must produce their patio permit number (issued by the Town once an application is fully approved) when requested by staff during inspections.
